Merchant Agreement
Last updated: 2026-10-13
1. Scope
This agreement applies to a merchant that integrates split.pay, together with the Terms of Service.
2. Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. You must accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement (https://stripe.com/connect-account/legal) and the Stripe Services Agreement, as applicable.
split.pay does not create payment accounts or verify merchants (no KYC). You connect your own existing processor account; your processor verifies you and may request information. Provide it promptly.
Card data goes directly to Stripe. split.pay never stores full card numbers or CVC; PCI DSS is handled by Stripe Elements.
3. Your obligations
Give accurate information.
Sell lawful products only. Prohibited businesses are those on Stripe's restricted business list (https://stripe.com/legal/restricted-businesses).
Keep your API keys and webhook secrets secure. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is mandatory.
Comply with consumer and tax laws.
Show buyers the final price, including the split service fee.
4. Fees
The card processing percentage plus split.pay's 0.5% are deducted from your proceeds. They are non-refundable unless split.pay decides otherwise.
Buyers pay a fixed split service fee per share to split.pay. split.pay may change fees with notice.
5. Refunds and disputes
You decide refunds, up to the order amount, never the service fees. If capture fails, everything paid is returned automatically.
Chargebacks are handled through your processor account. You are responsible for your products, delivery, refunds and support.
6. Platform rights
split.pay may suspend an account for risk, fraud or breach. It gives no guarantee of uptime beyond reasonable effort.
7. Governing law and contact
Governing law and jurisdiction: [to be completed by split.pay]
Company name, address and contact: [to be completed by split.pay]
