1. About split.pay
split.pay is a payment-splitting platform. A merchant integrates split.pay, an organizer splits an order into shares, and each participant pays a share by card. By using split.pay you accept these Terms.
2. How a split payment works
Each share's card is authorized (held), not charged, until every share is confirmed. Then all shares are captured together.
A payment session lasts 10 minutes by default. If it is not completed, or the organizer cancels it, every hold is released.
Before capture, a participant may withdraw their own share: the hold is released and the share reopens.
3. Fees for buyers
Each share carries a fixed split service fee, charged by split.pay for using the split service. It is shown before you pay, added to your share, and is non-refundable.
If you pay in a currency other than the order currency, you may be charged in US dollars. Your bank may convert the amount and charge its own fees.
4. Refunds
The merchant decides refunds, up to the order amount, never the service fees. If capture fails, everything paid is returned automatically.
5. Disputes and chargebacks
Disputes and chargebacks are handled through the merchant's processor account. The merchant is responsible for its products, delivery, refunds and support: contact the merchant first.
6. Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe. split.pay never stores full card numbers or CVC.
7. Acceptable use
Use split.pay lawfully. Do not use it for fraud or to disrupt the service.
8. Suspension and availability
split.pay may suspend an account for risk, fraud or breach. It gives no guarantee of uptime beyond reasonable effort.
9. Changes
split.pay may change these Terms and its fees with notice.
